As at 31 May 2025, a total of 13,594 insolvencies have been recorded nationwide — the highest figure since the 2015/16 financial year, which saw 13,853 cases. Of particular concern, the building and construction industry accounts for 23.47% of these, representing 3,261 insolvencies. This sector has already exceeded last financial year’s total of 2,977 insolvencies by 549 cases, with a month of reporting still to come.
